How to Create an Edublog
Go to Edublog at http://edublogs.org/
Create your edublog by choosing a one-word username, blog title, and email address. Click Create! It may take a couple minutes, but you’ll see a screen with your blog address. Go to the login screen provided such as http://eduscapes.edublogs.org/wp-login.php You will receive your password through email. Enter your username and password. Click Login.
Write a Post
Notice the options across the top of the screen and click Write. A new screen appears. Enter a title that will be the heading for your first posting. Then, enter your text in the box provided. Click the standard font tools (shown right) to adjust your text. To add a hyperlink, select the text and click on the link. Enter the web address. Click the tree icon to insert a picture. You can Browse for the picture, enter a description, and select the alignment. If you want to make a change to the image, just double-click the picture to edit.
Click on the icon to split the posting. Click on the icon to add your own code. Click on the icon to learn more about tools. Use the Upload area to upload images you will use on your postings. Click Browse to locate a file on your hard drive to upload. Give your picture a title and description. Click Upload. Your uploaded picture will appear. Click on the picture and notice the options. Click Save to save a draft of your post. Your drafts can be edited anytime by clicking on the title of the post. To post your posting, click the Publish button. There are many options to explore. Click the + sign next to each topic to see the options. Under Discussion notice the option to turn on and off your Comments. When you view your blog, you’ll notice a sample posting. If you click to Edit this posting, you can delete it. Find the Delete button at the bottom of the Write Post page.

Write a Page
In addition to creating Posts, the Write menu also allows you to create web pages. An About page has already been made for you. You just need to edit it. You can even upload and link to files such as Word, PDF, PowerPoint, and other files. You upload files just like you uploaded the images. After you upload the file, right-click on the blue address and copy it. Then, create your link in your posting and paste in the web address.
Manage Your Blog
There are many tools to help you manage your blog. They are listed across the top of your Dashboard page and include Manage, Links, Presentation, Plugins, Users, Options, etc. Under Options, be sure to check out the Discussion Options related to posting to your blog. I understand that learning something new can be often be interesting, but it helps to develop your problem solving skills as you work through something new.
